Time really files by quickly and it is already now the end of the semester. During the past four months, I had certainly learned a lot of things. In the PBL problem 1 and 2, I had found out that the different softwares and IT needs in a company, how to do deal with some of the computer errors and biometrics uses in the different department of a company. Most importantly, I had built up my relationship and teamwork with my fellow team mates though the process of doing the problems. Before I started studying CIP, my impression of computers is just that they are equipments for me to use the Microsoft powerpoint to aid my presentation and entertainment only. However computers were far from what I had initially expected. At the beginning, I was taught of the usage of computers in different places, the devices in it and detailed learning of the related hardwares and softwares. Later on, I was introduced to the cyberspace concept with its pros and cons, computer security and privacy issues regarding computers. Nearing the end, I had learned about the ethics and intellectual property rights. Along the way in studying the various topics, I had also learned the new and interesting techniques to better my Microsoft Word and Powerpoint works from the exercises given.Four months though were not very long period of time, but I surely did learned a lot in CIP. With this knowledge now, I am able to take better care of my computers, protecting my privacy in computers and coping with simple computer errors. Therefore, I feel CIP is a very informative module and I think it should be provide to everyone in every courses as it is very beneficial to everyone in our daily life.

Hi, I am Zhengji. This is the first entry of my blog and I am going to talk about CIP since I started the blog for the CIP E-learning. Through the last three weeks of the CIP classes, I really feel that the module is not totally the kind that uses the traditional method of teaching and learning to make us learn as we were given assignments to complete on our own to learn the skills. I had also learnt the different ways and techniques to search for information. It had helped me greatly in not only my CIP project, but also in my other modules’ project. In last week class, I had learnt about computers’ parts and other technologies like the printers and scanners. This gave me more knowledge of my computers and the related technologies so I can better make use of them in my school work and project works later. Lastly, I hope to be able to learn in CIP the different techniques and skills that I can use with the technology around me to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of my work.
